Best alternative 997.1 GT3 front lip
#21
solution for you
I have been riding in severely low cars since i could drive. The problem with gt3 front end is that the bumper itself is too long and gives it even less ground clearance.
Its impossible not to scrape and one bad one your lip is done anyways.
What are we to do if we wanna drive without a mangled lip or replace it all the time? Get a airlift system for $3500?
Simple. Cut the lip in half and paint it.
If you look at the oem lip it looks almost two pieces. There is a line that divides the lip into two so cut there and the result is like so. Cost me about 150 to do this to a destroyed lip. I added a CF splitter to further protect the lip and added rubber window molding around the edges to protect the cf splitter.
Aerodynamically not a good idea perhaps but very practical. I dont really feel ill effects on instability in the front even at high speeds on the freeway.
You gain about close to 2 inches of ground clearance and you shouldnt scrape and if you do learn how to angle. I dont really pay attention to the lip and not a mark on it. Only thing I changed out is the rubber molding on the splitter time to time at a cost of about 2 dollars.
It looks so low in the picture because the ground has a decline but on a flat surface the ground clearance is more than manageable.
So instead of buying new lips all the time cut it and paint it.
I use a cup lip on the track.
