atleung is an unknown quantity at this point
Great job! Did you remove the stone guard in front of the rear wheels before you apply film in that area? If the car has decal over the stone guard (e.g., the new RS), what would you do?

Yes, we did remove the factory stone guards before applying our film onto the panel. If the RS has the stoneguards over the decals, the customer would either order new ones in case the stone guards pull them up or we would provide a new set of decals via our design / graphics department (at a cost of course).

There are some amateurs doing it in my part of the world, but you run a great risk of having them run a razor blade through your paint or something like that . . . Maybe I should just fly you guys out here.
It does take quite a bit amount of experience to do an "ok" job. For example, quality precut installers typically have 4-6 yrs under their belt. To move beyond that into the mastery level (especially to custom installations) would take an additional 3-4 yrs and that is if the installer is talented.

As the economy run through this deep flux, we have seen quite a few new companies joining the industry. Good for competition, but bad for consumers especially with the lack of experience. Here is another example of what may go wrong in the event of having a bad install take place..

HEAVY DIMPLES AND STRETCH MARKS

The dimples and excessive stretch marks come from the adhesive getting distorted and damaged from improper application. Now this is not to say that a good install is completely free from such defects, but those depicted in these pictures were obviously bothering the customer. He decided to not take it up with the previous company and decided to have us redo just about everything.

There are excessive gaps and inconsistent cuts that also bothered this customer.

As we removed the film, not surprisingly considering the jagged cuts and gaps, there were razor cuts on the paint as well left by the previous company:

Some very deep, some very light cuts in the paint. All unacceptable
