It was a fairly successful car. The bugs were worked out. Just a halo car for Ford. And they continue to hold their values.

See GM? It CAN be done.

yah, and the new NSX is coming out next year too.....just as its been rumored EVERY year since 01

they wont have anything out for a VERY long time for many reasons, and now is nowhere near the right time at all!!!

didnt it start out as a LeMan project that ran too high in costs so they turned to road cars to save face and money.
Throw in the lawsuits that came from an unfortunate loss of an owner and the new VW ownership with their "no more toys" mantra and it simply aint gonna happen anytime soon at all.

Nah, Piech loves special projects, especially ones that are "to the core" of the brand values and his Ideals...e.g. Veyron, Phaeton, GT Supersports, etc, etc. a "pure" GT race derived model (CGT successor) is right up his alley.

I personally would love to see them build something more in the vein of the 959.....a 911 derived, but vastly different from a 911 to the point that it is it's own model. something that could showcase Porsche's technology & chassis expertise, at the same time giving the 911's a chance to "evolve" beyond the current concept. I suppose a 959 successor, more than anything.

just my .02 tho. whatever those guys in weissach have planned, I'm sure it will be good.

Porsche is planning to launch CGT successor, but the project is rumored to be at the early stages as for now and there are almost no trustworthy facts about this upcoming supercar. Things I have heard is that currently it is codenamed as RS1 and main target is to make it better than CGT in all dimensions and make it competative against Enzo successor FX70. We could see plenty of new technology - active aerodynamics, V8 twin-turbo with about 750 hp, very light will assure great power/weight ration. But I would like to add that no information was leaked by Porsche at this moment and all what I have heard are rumors only with unknown credibility. Only thing is for sure, if it will be made, it will be amazing.
