Arrow Top Gear + Carrera GT

A review of the Carrera GT one of my favorites. I actually had the pleasure or honor of hearing one of these bad ass cars today. It came screaming down the blvd roaring on all 10 cyls. I watched in slo-mo as it went by :-)

Definatly an amazing car. But clarkson jizzes himself every time he drives anything half decent. Is that where the nickname jezza comes from?

No, the CGT is truly that amazing. The exotic all-carbon construction techniques are only dimmed by staggering performance, waves of torque with a whisper on the pedal, then all hell breaks looks climbing to 8,500 red line. And that maniacal exhaust screem - this is the only car I've owned that provides thrilling sounds just on a cold start in the garage - the feeling of unbridled pent-up energy in that engine is just visceral. I last had mine out during Monterey Historics week. One of my sons and I are cruising down Carmel Valley Road when I get one of these "C'mon dad, don't be a *****, punch it!" challenges from son #2. Feeling terribly wounded, I floor the thing while in 2nd gear at about 40 mph. The thing goes completely sideways from breaking the rear end loose, starts wigging and wagging back and forth as I'm doing steering corrections until I grab 3rd at 80+ mph...and then the thing does it all over again. Then go nail some apexes - even at the track I've never had a street-legal car that just won't under steer, no matter how clumsily I'm driving it. Go too deep in a corner, no problem. Exit too early, no problem. BUT, get on the gas hard when not pointed straight? BIG PROBLEM, few drivers are good enough to catch it without a lot of runout room. Not for the timid, but definitely also not for the brave...

IMO the Carrera GT is the most gorgeous car ever built. It's the only car I've ever seen that I would not change a single thing on, every angle and detail is perfect.

It's kind of like... if you took a Zonda and put it into a blender with a Z8. I love it. I bet it doesn't go out of style... ever. Can't say that about most of the Italians...

If I had one car to have, it would be the CGT.
