Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS Tequipment - Retrofitted Motorsport Accessories
New factory-engineered lightweight components are now available to all Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS (both 997 models) for retrofitting. Global customers except for those in China can have them installed in their cars. The parts are developed by Porsche's Motorsport Division in Weissach and are fully track tested. In previous years Porsche had made available official kit packs for the Cayman and the coupé versions of the 911 Carrera and the 911 Carrera S.
The kit is meant to minimise weight and improve performance, as well as to enhance the cars' looks. An example is the new titanium double tailpipe which reduces the weight of the car at the rear. The spoiler lip at the rear and the ram air scoop on the rear lid are made of carbon fibre. So are the rear-view mirrors and the front air outlet above the bumper. Using these objects further reduces weight. Porsche reckons the carbon fibre looks particularly inviting when mated to light exterior colours.
Titanium-coloured second-generation 19-inch GT3 wheels are available and come with forged aluminium wheel bolts.
