PICS of Some new life for a 996 GT3
Hello all,
This is a project that we have been working on for the last 4 weeks and are happy to say that we have a mean 911 on our hands. We upped the displacement to a 3.8L and used 997 GT3 Cup heads with our custom ground cams done by Web Cams here in Socal. The engine was just a small part of the the equation. We did a stand alone ECU to use a 12 position traction control system, got rid of the E-throttle to go with the (Old-school) throttle cable right out of the 997 GT3 RSR. We got into the brakes with an awesome Brembo 380mm front and rear rotor with there 6 piston calipers. Tarett Provided all that was necessary to get rid of the rubber in the control arms and upper damper hats. We were asked to put an aggressive canyon carving alignment on it. So we did. Next on our list is our in house built headers and center exit exhaust. The car came in making 336 hp to the tires and is now at 379hp at the tires... torque is also up 40 lbs with 800 more RPMs of usable bottom end. We are wondering if we can get any more with our exhaust package. Stay tuned!!! He Says its more fun to drive then his 997RS! I Do love the RS...???
A big thank you from all of us at BBI to Ira at Tarett Engineering The crew at Brembo, Sam at Speedway Collision, The crew at Apex, and Jess at Bill Pierce Motors.

That is a strong car for an N/A setup its not average but pretty Terrific for power on the wheels. Thank you for sharing, I always wondered why Porsche doesnt provide the 3.8l out of the box on the GT3 rather than sticking to the 3.6 unit

Yeah, The dyno we use is a Dyno Dynamics.
It reads a bit low compared to say a Mustang Dyno and even lower than a Dyno Jet. We use it just to measure the Before and after. But 345-350 HP is what we normally see on a Mustang dyno for the 996 GT3.
We will post pics of the car in 3 weeks when the rest of the work is done.
