LEAK! Mercedes E class Facelift (W212)

^where do you live? The RS models from audi are stupidly expensive.
The RS6 was nearly 100K euros
And more techno advanced?
Hell the RS division is easily the worst of the 3 ( AMG,M and RS) they take ages to release cars and they are over priced as hell..
Last RS car that was worth a while was the RS4, which they discontinued with the new A4.. Go figure..

Don't reply and tell us S6 is a comp to AMG or M. !!!

I would love to see some AWD AMG's (besides G, ML and A), just love these cars and in Switzerland AWD is never wrong.
I would say Audi is nowhere near the Mercedes in terms of styling and technique but they have AWD on the RS models and that's a big plus.

The M has comparable techno advancement (meaning NAV, stereo, cameras, google earth and wifi) but the AMG has the same techno as my bluetec E, which is still far behind.
Oh yes I will!
I test drove the M and it felt slower then the audi S, even at highway passing speeds. I was shocked. Other members on other forums have posted about their dissapointments with the M and its tremendous turbo lag. The new TT AMG, I have not experienced and imagine it to be and feel much faster then the audi. But the S with a tune and exhaust and all the great techno it has, I would take it over the AMG along with my 20k savings.
But then AMG will probably come out with something great and cause me to do a trade in for it. Must pay to play.

Are you kidding me?
You are comparing ordinary S models to AMG's and M's?
They are not even performance tuned..
the true competition from audi is the RS models.
And they are grossly over priced!
The RS6 was Usd 160 K
E63 is about Usd 86K
Now you tell me if the Benzes or the Audis are over priced.

2013 Audi S6 vs. 2013 BMW M5, 2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG - Comparison Test - Car and Driver
Not discussing price difference with the RS just the S. And I don't really want a sport tune suspension in a luxury sedan, the S handles well enough and keeps up with the AMG and M with handling. Track is of course going to show a bigger difference but in regular driving, it will do the job just as well.
Never would put any of these on the track anyway.

Well then you can not compare these cars as the S6 has less performance and is not as fast.
Now if it is enough for you, is not something that matters in a fair comparison.
Since there are many cars that offer little less performance at a waaay lower price. The examples are to many to mention in the car industry.
And do remember that the E class is now half way through its life cycle, while the A6 is barely 1 year old.
So expect Mercedes to up their game with this facelift, and even more so when the A6 is midlife and we have a brand new E class.
Thats just the way it goes.

The S6 is just as fast as the other 2 cars up to 60mph 3.7sec. After that the other two show there HP and beat it by a full second in the 1/4mile. With a simple tune and exhaust, I assume it would keep up though. So for me, I do and will compare them. And with that said the price difference is substantial since the performance is comparable.
On top of that, I have driven them both and agree with the article.
I do agree with you fully about the upcoming E class and I did mention something on a similar note in one of my previous posts, where I also said you have to pay to play.

^there is a perfectly good explanation for that 0-60 time.. AWD.
It does not match the 2 others in output and handling around a track.
now if like you, one is only interested in everyday driving then yes it does give more bang for the buck.
But so does many other lesser expensive cars compared to lets say a porsche 911..
So that's why im saying that its unfair comparison when it comes to money as it is in fact a lesser car, if it wasent then audi would not make RS models..
And the RS models are as previously mentioned extremely overpriced.
