Post Power Increase for 2009 Mercedes G-Class

It may be the most unattractive vehicle in the Mercedes lineup, but after nearly three decades of production you cannot argue with its success. The current generation has already been here for an amazing 18 years since it would first released in 1990, so we must be heading for about the umpteenth facelift by now.

For the 2009 model year we see the G class will get a slightly redesigned grille with the three-bar layout but the most significant change will be under the hood with the power output of the G500 increased to 382hp (from hp) and 530Nm of torque whilst the G55 AMG now gets 500hp. The equipment options have also been enhanced for the new model year with a new telematics system. Production for the 2009 Mercedes-Benz G-Class will commence in September.

Who wrote that crap? The G-Class is 100% pure unadulterated presence and class. It's beyond beautiful or ugly, it's timeless.
Much like the awesome boxy trucks of that era ... Defender, Toyota Land Cruiser ... you can show up at a club or in a mudpit, they will be equally at home.
