Mercedes SLA details surface
The Mercedes Benz front-drive drop top puts the Audi TT on notice

Expected to arrive 2013, the MB baby two-seater soft-top convertible will be based on the new B-class architecture, and feature front-wheel drive for the first time in a Mercedes roadster.

The expected power plant according to GoAuto is an all-new 1.6-litre turbo-charged direct-injection four-cylinder petrol engines, mated to a new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. A six-speed manual transmission will also be available. A 1.8 liter turbo diesel variant is also rumored to be in the works.

The Vision SLA Roadster Concept was a big hit at the 2000 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and we hope the production version doesn't stray to far from the concept, if that is the case we expect a this to be a big hit for Mercedes-Benz.
