SL500 ... Not a track car lol
#1
Decided I would take my fathers SL500 on the track at Homestead, To my amazement the thing handles beautifully! By the 5th lap I am coming down the straightaway at around 115mph when I reach the upcoming turn and try to slow down ... NO BRAKES! The pedal goes all the way to the carpet and I fumble for the Ebrake, Cant see it with my helmet on. The whole f'ing car shuts down, No brakes, power steering, or Traction control. I finally slam the Ebrake and the car starts dragging all four tires and smoke is everywhere.
They black flag the whole session because of the dummy who thinks the SL is a track car lol
Needless to say the experience was a pucker factor 12 and scared the crap out of me, I am sure I cooked the pathetic brakes but the car should not have just shut down. This is the second time the POS has done this to me. First time both batteries died on the highway and I lost my light's power steering control over the throttle... everything! People almost ran into my car at night with no lights, 4 ways wouldn't even work!
End result 4 flat spotted tires, Thank god there was not a wall in front of me or I might have been writing this from hospital bed!
Mercedes sucks... sorry

no problem, but I consider mine to be a sports car it handles really well for a small car and is much more connected to the road when compared to the SL.
