1 series..ish question
#2
I haven't heard any speculation or word from BMW about it. I can't imagine them putting the 4.0 V8 in a 1 series, and I don't see them devloping a different motor just for that platform. Considering the 135i has 300hp, I'm not sure there is a lot of demand for such a car, that thing absolutely freakin' hauls!

I just wish BMW would bring the 1-series hatchback here - the coupe looks odd.
Here's some info about the 1-series parts available:

IIRC, BMW decided not to put the 135tii into production. It's a shame - I have one in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue!

Oh and yeah even if they let the M division loose on the 1 series, it'll never be called 'M1' because of the original M1.

The tii is awesome. Maybe if BMW gets enough interest they'll do it. I think the biggest problem is there is already a lot of criticism for the 1-series being costly. It's not much less than the comparable 3-series (engine for engine). Personally, I'd almost always choose the smaller, lighter version.

Actually the 135i is suposed to be the M version of the 1 series . As 4wheels said , it can't be named M1 , and even if the engine doesn't come from M division , u still can't say it's not worthy of that badge . I had a test drive with one and it was preety fast ...
