BMW E30.. Auto-to-Manual swap!
Yay fun project! After three years of ownership, and growing tired of the slush-o-matic I decided to put a little spring into this little E30's step. I sourced a set of parts from a salvage 5-speed E30 and went to the garage for some R&R.
First I sourced the parts...
Refinished the flywheel, and threw in a new pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and clutch.....
Drained the old gear fluid and replaced with the Purple stuff...
Say goodbye autobox!
Time to do work.... interior prep:
Weight reduction...
That SOB was heavy! Every bit of 80lbs of awkward weight.
Shaping up!
Like it came that way from the factory!
Mocked up with my old E39 M5 shifter..
Road testing!

I know what ya mean! Maybe down the road, after a Z3 steering rack swap (3 turns instead of 4 turns)!
