WTFBBQ, an Accord V6 is 32K nowadays!?

this is a pointless argument, but just to name one thing.... INSURANCE.... If you really can't see why some people chose Honda's over entry level Euros then obvisouly this is a pointless thread... As car guys I think we all know the +'s on the BMW side, but there are also many -'s to people who are NOT car junkies.

Even though we have M5, M3, and 325is, we are also boring family type with no claims, and we only pay 2400 with million dollar policy in one of the most expensive zip in LA.
Point is, these cars are not expensive to insure if you are a boring family type, which the Honda drivers certainly are.

Seems like there's a much larger pricing difference in Canada than in the US. The base price for a 328i here is still a couple grand more than a fully loaded Accord V6. That said, the Accord is also a bigger vehicle.
Personally, as a car enthusiast I couldn't see myself driving either the Accord or the 328i. If I buy a BMW it'd have to be an M3 or Z3/4 M coupe.
If I were middle aged, financially strained, and needed to tote around kids to hockey practice then a Honda Accord would make sense. Like it or not, there is definitely a market for this type of vehicle. They really do last forever, hardly ever need maintenance and when they do, maintenance costs next to nothing. That said, I hope I'm never in a position where I'd have to own one

They've been there for some time, were in the high 20's back in the late 90's. We bought my wife an accord v6 last year when we had a baby and her accord coupe wasn't doing it (my wifes legs were up against the dashboard with the car seat in the back. Car is great, great power (270 hp, 250 lb ft), car handles nicely (but who is buying an accord for it's handling), avg's about 28 mpg....and is very luxurious for what you are paying. It's also a very large car for a midsized sedan. The space in it is amazing for what you are use to in an accord. We looked at used 330's as well, wasn't working out with a baby seat....front passenger seat had to go all the way forward. I'm 6'1 240 and have plenty of room left for my legs.
Only real thing that's bothered me, is the rear seat is a complete fold down, not a 60/40.
I'm as much of a car guy as anyone, and my wife is a car girl, the accord was just a no brainer for our situation. Only real regret we have was not spending a little more and getting a pilot.

Interior dimensions vs a 5 series and 3 series
Accord 5 series 3 series
headroom (F/R) - 41.4/38.5 40.5/38.3 38.5/37.5
shoulder (F/R) - 58.2/56.2 58.3/56.2 55.4/55.1
Leg (F/R) - 42.5/37.2 41.4/36.1 41.5/34.6
I've definitely considered a 335 for myself...it's a much different car though, can't even compare the two. I'd take an accord V6 over a 328 any day. I'm a huge BMW fan as well, my dad has only owned 7 series since I can remember (early 90's) and both my brothers drive 7 series as well.

The 32K Accord is a boring family sedan, which means it is driven by boring family people types.
