Any e46 owners? Code thrown...

Thought I'd ask here as well, why not? Had a code thrown, P0011, twice. Not sure of the specifics of this or how to fix it. Something to do with VANOS. Anyone have any ideas?

What engine? Is your engine running fine or do you notice something not normal? P0011 is: Code P0011 "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)

Could be VANOS starting to crap out or just dirt in throttle bodies. Need more info to tell more.

Get a BMW tool like the Peake code reader and see exactly what the BMW code says. The generic code readers are useless on a BMW. If you have any buds local who work on their own cars, they will likely have a Peake. In my group up here almost all of us have one. Best $140 you will ever spend, if you plan on driving a BMW for any length of time.
Reset and Scan Tools for BMW Check-Engine, SRS, Oilservice Inspection

It could be as easy as a cam shaft sensor, they are a huge issue on the M5. Vanos is another story, very costly to replace.

Thanks guys, it's the M54. Going to an indy mechanic tomorrow, see what he says. Hopefully not the VANOS

Camshaft position sensor would be my guess.

The vanos code my e36 usually throws is 1519. (Which is retarded, my vanos is rebuilt and i can feel it working). Its probably because of my cams though.
