F30 3-series to Feature New Squared-Off Angel Eyes

It appears that one of the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics car's more overt and distinguishing design features - the squared-off angel eye lights, will appear on the upcoming F30 3-series. This is the first we have seen this angel eyes design on a production BMW.

We first began seeing the squared-off angel eye lights on the VED concept car, a design concept which flowed down in less radical form to subsequent concept cars such as the Gran Coupe Concept and the 6-series Coupe Concept (all pictured below). Although the squared-off angel eyes unfortunately did not make production on the 6-series coupe, the F30 spy photo below shows clearly the new shape of the F30's LED angel eyes.

We're looking forward to seeing the new design and shaped lights on the production F30 as it adds a very aggressive lighting element in combination with eyebrows that will likely continue to appear on the 3-series sedan headlights. The concept cars mentioned above give a nice preview of how aggressive this look will be.

The F30 3-series sedan will make its world public debut at the 2012 Geneva Autoshow in March of 2012. Official F30 pics and details should be released by late this year. The F32 coupe will be unveiled a year later in 2013.

I like the grand coupe, but prefer the organic nature of traditional BMW styling. Newer BMWs are lacking that timeless look.

Agree! They look super good! Glad they decided to do this instead of keeping the basic round light that they've had forever.. Gotta love the classic look, but change is good!
