Thanks for the photos DJ. Looks better than that hideous VW Beetle any day of the week. I like the wheels and brakes in these pics. I also like the fact it will use the same engine from JCW, a 1.6 liter four cylinder turbo engine with 211 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque.
Mini has a great group of people in design and media relations. I met the brand manager at the Detroit Auto Show. They're taking some big steps with product development.

MINI Coupe JCW spied
MINI's Coupe is coming! Our spy photographers have snapped the clearest pictures yet of a pair of camouflaged MINI Coupes, ahead of the car's launch date later this year. But these aren't just another set of images, they confirm that a hot John Cooper Works model will be part of the line up and reveal a number of other important details, too.
Giveaways that this is the range-topping JCW variant include the large-diameter, centrally-mounted twin exhaust pipes, plus badging on the wheels and front grille of the lighter-coloured car. A deeper front spoiler and side skirts also hint at the two-seater's potential.
Look carefully at the black car and you can make out a pop-up rear spoiler, which deploys above certain speeds. And it should prove useful as this JCW version is will get the same turbocharged 1.6-litre powerplant as the hatch, producing 211bhp and capable of hitting a top speed of around 150mph.
