Post Autozeitung Reviews The Alpina B5 Biturbo

Translated from Autoziegtung by Google:
The close relationship of the house Alpina with the Bavarian Motor Works brings decades of so dynamic and exclusive treasures had been, since that always find more friends worldwide. The latest work from the East Allgäu appears here striking characteristic Alpina blue on the what the friend of the family lies down like 2870 € extra cost. Aside from the typical aluminum wheels in 20-spoke design and the harmony adapted air stabilizer front and rear, by the way reduce lift on both axles contribute, we have here, obviously with a BMW 5 series do - but with a very special .

PERFECT COMBINATION OF COMFORT AND DYNAMICS
As with the previous B5 S , developers no-compromise racing machine in mind, but a powerful and Scheluzzi business sedan. And we take it away: This is the Buchloer certainly succeeded. A glance at the data enthusiastic: Between 3000 and 4750 tours of the towering 4.4-liter V8 bi-turbo wide torque peak of 700 Newton meters to a rich. Behind this is far more vile than chip tuning on the famous BMW V8. New pistons (compression: 9.2 instead of 10.0), private motor / transmission control and flow-optimized, two-stage charge air cooling are some of the outstanding features.

As soon as the V8, accompanied by a pleasant, powerful sound, is operational is, however, the combination with the new eight-speed automatic transmission out to be great progress. This is not only the complex machinery of ZF, but also at the Alpina's own control electronics, the shifting action of the individual cylinders can hide while. The result is buttery soft, barely noticeable, but lightning-fast gear changes, the manual intervention on the back of the steering wheel shift buttons hidden mostly superfluous. In short, a motor-gearbox combination, which can be precisely controlled with the accelerator pedal, and in any situation powerful propulsion generated, like the famous performance (see data sheet) is also documented. With the precise steering, the superbly balanced sport suspension , the brakes and the stable-locking differential (2,995 €) serious moves of at least 1.9 tonnes of B5 even on the track almost light-footed and impressed with high stability. Well controllable drifts must be shut off DSC (ESP) already aware early on the throttle at provoke.

On the other side of the surprised B5 through his highly refined ride comfort, which even the adaptive dampers , the driving modes Normal, the sport and comfort can be affected, have their share. An extensive standard equipment and the typical Alpina exquisite interior perspective at the end even the considerable price of € 95 400. Conclusion - Jürgen Voigt

The best and most powerful BMW 5 Series is currently Alpina B5 Biturbo. The perfect combination of powerful, cultivated drive, excellent ride comfort and exclusive manufacturing covers a wide range of properties and in this form, even at the established high-volume manufacturers are difficult to find.

Ragazza Rossa is an unknown quantity at this point
I can honestly say, I've never met an Alpina I didn't like. Not many other companies out there have that distinction.

Will this have any significance in taking away M5 sales?

I will guess slightly to no. Alpina has been putting out editions to every model BMW makes; It is a different ideology all together. //M division cars have the mind set more along the lines of a 911 whereas the alpina follows a big power big luxury, a la Aston. Plus - Alpinas don't make it to the US (except a few).
