I'm with everybody else... Last time I checked on their prices they were around $120k. I'm surprised at how well they've held their value! I always thought it'd be a cool car but they depreciate lower than NSX's!

Love that car! A neighbor had one where my parents live and I always enjoyed watching it when it was out cruising. Such a sweet car that didn't get what it deserved.

The Alpina version is the one to have if I remember correctly. They sorted out the dampers and gearbox that wasn't particularly good. Top Gear did a thorough test on it if you havn't seen

I don't know about the Alpinas being more desirable. Visually, maybe, but overall the car was softened in 2003 when Alpina took the car over. Suspension is softer, smaller engine displacement, less hp (though more torque) and only available in an 5 speed auto. The regular Z8, while a great car, is not exactly a hard-tuned sports car. I would imagine the Alpinas would be a bore to drive.

Original Z8 > Alpina Z8

Original has one of the best motors ever made in it.
I don't like the Alpina wheels for the Z8
Original has a stick, which is a must for a car like this.

I really like the Z8. It is a timeless classic, and its resistance to depreciation is not surprising. I'm sure that 20 years from now it will be a collectors item.

I like Z8s but you should avoid Alpinas like the plague. The 5-spd auto box kills every chance of having fun in a car like this.
