Latest mod for my Mini: F40 doors

The driver's door in my Mini has been increasingly hard to open. You have to yank it and give it a hard push to get out.
After picking apart the door, I saw that the Bowden cable was loose. Well since BMW takes a few days to get me a new one and I don't feel like winding down the window everytime I want to exit the car, I decided to do a temporary mod, the Ferrari F40 door mod!

You can see the loose Bowden cable running from the upper speaker.

After replacing the regular wire, this is the new, more hardcore racer result.

And here's the new wire, an old phone cord

The end result!

I'll get the real cable this tuesday

Who is Bowden? And why did he lay a cable in your car?

Just make a CF panel to cover it with a little loop of cable sticking out and you're all set!

Apparently Bowden is the guy making the cables in British cars, in the same way Lucas is making the electrical system

Oh shut it. You're just jealous cause you got two station wagons and no sports car.
Alzilla, I seriously doubt that molding a cf door cover will be as cheap as the $6 cable though

^ Excuse me. Those two station wagons are pulling chicks like you wouldn't believe . . . They say "Awww, here's someone who's already planned for a family. Let's do the nasty with him!"

Yeah, you're pretty much all setup for hunting cougars. Don't worry though, I'm sitting with a glass of wine in a big empty house in another suburb all alone Still...I'm not the one with two family cars but no wife and kids
