The money pit, aka, my E30 325is

I must have missed it, when did you get rid of the GT2? Thats really sad, I love those cars and from the sound of it so did you. Oh well, good luck on the new project, plenty of forums around the net to get info on E30s.

Three years ago when I leased it I had intend on buying it, because the buyout was only 85K, which back then was a smoking deal.
Almost 40K miles later, and in a tanking luxury car market, there is no way this GT2 is worth anywhere near 60K, let along 85K.
So, it's going back to Porsche.
When I turned in my first ever lease car, a 98 M3, I felt really bummed for a while until it was replaced with a 02 M3.
After the E46 M3 and the 996 Turbo, I am pretty desensitized to changing cars.

The big decision now is whether to also get the dash replaced and that 20 year old dirty ragged red carpet ripped out and anthracite version put in.

Picked up my redone leather recaro's with heated seats element and dropped it off with my mechanic.
Since BMW decided in their infinite wisdom to move E30 parts to archive, I told him to order me a new dash.
And since you can't replace the carpet without taking out the dash, I told my mechanic to replace the carpet with black ones.
Heh, now I will have a black interior with red rear seats and red door cards.
I am scouring ebay for a set of black door cards. At some point, I should have a black interior with red new seatbelts from E30 M3 since regular seatbelts for E30 are NLA.

Oh good, I'm glad I found this thread. Makes me want another E30, those are great fun. I hear you on the restore/money pit thing, we've got 4 or 5 Acura Legends that are undergoing the same process. Any idea which direction you want to take this car?
