BMW Z3 M Coupe or 2008 Mustang Bullitt?
I know this seems to be a weird question, and to some, downright stupid. But here is the thing. I don't pay for my car, currently. Since I work as an automotive blogger, and I don't work anymore. My parents still pay for my bills. I'm 22, so it's not that bad... I think...
But here is the thing. I drive a 2006 Mazda Mazdaspeed 6. I love the car, but I'm tired of it. My parents know I want another BMW, bad! My dad and I have been talking about getting an E46 M3. One of the best cars ever made. Today, though, my brother (he is a Ford salesman and works at a dealership that is owned by a friend of ours) tried to get the ball rolling on helping me to get rid of my MS6. I have it listed on AutoTrader and so far nothing. No one knows what my car is, and they don't see the need to pay a premium for a turbocharged car that doesn't get great gas mileage.
So, I've driven the 08 Bullitt for my website. I also was recently invited to Ford's HQ in Dearborn, MI, where I took the Bullitt out on 2 of their test tracks. I loved it! It really inspired good confidence and handled fantastically. The lack of IRS wasn't that bad, especially since it has a 3.73 Final Drive, and a revised chassis that will be used on the 2010 Mustang GT.
What am I getting at? Well, Jason, my brother, was able to get me a good trade in on my car and was talking to my parents about me getting the Bullitt. We are getting it for employee pricing and 0% financing. Typcial American car companies, haha. But the dilemma is that my parents know that I drive a lot. They know that I put 47,000 miles on my Speed 6 in a year and a half. I drive a lot...
They said, "Why buy a limited production car that he will only put tons of miles on?" I kind of agree. So now they are talking about getting me the Bullitt and a beater. All fine and well. But they also mentioned about getting me a cheaper BMW.
This is where the Z3 M Coupe come into play. I love this car. They are relatively less expensive then an E46 M3, and you can either have the E36 M3 engine or the E46 M3 engine. Both are fantastic engines. But all I have to do now is to talk my parents into this.
I forgot to mention that I need a vehicle that has room for our 11 month old straight from Brussels, Belgium, German Shepherd. I am the primary caretaker of her. And I need room to transport her back and forth to a daycare where she gets training and plays with other dogs, a few times a week.
Thanks guys,
Josh
