Ferrari V8 powered Fiat 500: Is it a good idea?

Hi everyone!

I came across this article which is about a Ferrari V8 powered Fiat 500 project... And I just kept wondering: 542 Hp for such a short wheelbase, is it a good idea? I'm not a car designer but it doesn't sound right to me! What do you think guys?

the car sits too high and as you stated a wheel base that is too small...i dont think it would work, especially fwd.

Sounds like a bad idea, one more reason it should be done!

Why spend 550k on a V8 powered Fiat 500, if you can get a V8 powered Ferrari for half the price?

And where do they want to put the engine ?

Horseshit IMO !

Wonder how good it can be around a track with all that power.

Fun street car but useless on the track. WB is too short, weight will be all off with the big V8, and too top heavy.

It's like all the hot rod guys who use to put Hemi's and big blocks in MG's or big V8's in Miata's. Fun street cars but not functional on the track.
