I have a serious attraction to Audi Allroads (and B5 RS4 Avants). That said, they're pretty unreliable based on any research. There are always people that have good luck with them, but 100k miles = expensive to own with any 2.7t audi, especially an allroad. At that range the car could need a ton of maintenance, and the turbos are very apt to crap out. Exhaust, intakes, and tune will make it a screamer for sure. It's also just a really badass wagon.

For all the appeal the car has, my mechanic and good friend (who happens to be an Audi/VW specialist) says an Audi with the 2.7t is a POS and should be avoided at any cost. As much as I want to disagree because I really like almost everything that had the 2.7t in it, I've seen far too many of them with the front ends pulled off and the whole front subframe/motor/trans dropped down in his shop to consider owning one at this point. I would never be able to justify 1/3 to 1/2 of a car's purchase price (or more) to replace the turbos in it which is more or less a maintenance requirement rather than a freak failure.
