Kendall is 6'4" which partly explains why he broke both legs at Watkins Glen on turn 5 at the 1991 IMSA GTP race when his car's left rear suspension broke-the same turn where JD McDuffie was killed in the Winston Cup race there a month later-after which they put in the bus stop chicane at the end of the back straight.
