2012 La Jolla Concours d'Elegance Recap
Sunday, April 1 2012
This past weekend I was informed by some locals that the La Jolla Concours would be occurring on Sunday. I had never been to La Jolla and figured this was a perfect opportunity to pay the famed village a visit. Heading over to the show during the late morning hours, I was greeted with not very warm or particularly welcoming overcast weather. Luckily, this would change and by 2PM the weather turned to a perfect mid 60s and sunny. The setting of the show against the backdrop of 10-15 foot waves and the La Jolla Cove was just spectacular. The concours which rotates its theme was to focus on Italian marques this year, however there was a very diverse representation on the classic side, along with a great sponsor showing with some modern marvels.
Without further adieu, here are some of the 500+ photos I took, starting with the corral.
Onto the show entrance: Ferrari showed up strong
Inside now:
More modern Ferrari
Woody
Urkel-mobile!

Finishing off with a touch of modern
Stopped by Mclaren Newport Booth, the MP4 looks so good in the flesh, especially in Volcano Orange
Then went over to Symbolic to see these:
991 looks great
And heading out --
Left some awesome cars out of this thread that I have on my photobucket if you want to peruse further.

Hope you guys enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them

Ed - that thing was all sorts of crazy. I did not see the owner around, but based on what I saw and based on the plate it is an LS3 swap. Here are a few more pics I took of it:
