i love the G55,but honestly it is a very limited unpractical vehicle that is only a pleasure for the driver,if you happen to be a passenger or worse, unfortunate enough to sit in the back, this thing is a real torture, uncomfortable noisy and cramped.Off road the G55 is no good either inspite of its 3 differentials due to low ground clearence - the side pipes... and wide tires.
The acceleration and sound though are addictive and personally i do like the way the G55 looks, much better than any Cayenne...
IMO If one needs a luxury/performance suv that can also offroad and move a bit on road there's no alternative to the Range Rover SC

I cannot rationalize its price, nearly 150,000 usd here. Its a nice suv and all but there are a lot of them here, selling like cup cakes and all are either black, white or silver.

I've heard that they have S/C pumps shutting off which robs power, for a car at that price and our heat/humidity basically you wont be getting the full potential 99.5% of the time if you drive fast in a daily basis since the weather is hot 3/4 of the year.

Supposedly those are absolutely stonking off-road, a total mountain goat that will go places that a Hummer can only dream of. 3 separately lockable diffs give it unbelievable traction. The Canadian and German militaries still use them IIRC. For a true off-roader, they're fantastic, but I don't think the blonde driving that will go any further off-road than the gravel car park at her son's soccer game. I would never get one because I can just never see myself going so far into the mountains that I need anything more than the average pickup.

I'll never understand how suburban housewives can look at them and think "That's the perfect car to shuttle little Jimmy to pre-school and back!"

Its timeless. That is the point of this car. It might be rough around the edges, but I think its pure class.
