Spied: The New Volvo V40

Braving the cold winter in Northern Sweden, our Teamspeed spies bring us the latest spy photos of the new Volvo V40 that will replace two existing models in the current Volvo line-up, the S40 and V50. Wearing the typical Volvo plastic camouflage cladding, we can still make out this is a more streamlined direction Volvo is taking.

During an interview on Friday Stefan Jacoby was asked if the V40 will replace the C30 as well but just he just replied that the C30 is a 3 door car and the new one will have more than 3 doors. So the future of the C30 still remains uncertain.

The new V40 is taking direct aim for the Audi A3 Sport-back and BMW´s newly revised 1-series, a signal that Volvo is trying to go more upscale. The new V40 will have its public debut in March at the Geneva motor show.

 

Was at a car convention last friday and heard Volvo's CEO Stefan Jacoby speak about this car. Aparently this car goes in a very different direction than the old V40.
