My own take is that - during the Preview Night - you can walk right up to all of the cars and they want to avoid accidents.
Since there was food and drink served, they may have wanted to avoid drunk LA douchebags from spilling.
There were more than a few there. Can you say Ed Hardy button-ups galore?
