Class action suit says Florida Highway Patrol illegally tickets motorists who warn others about speed traps | wtsp.com
- Motorist flashes lights to warn of radar
- Trooper pulls him over and issues him a ticket
- Motorist researches law, finds out the ticket is bogus
- Motorist files class action lawsuit against FHP
- Seeking $100 refund and $15,000 in damages
- Since 2005, 10,429 drivers have been cited under the statute, so if he won that would be $1,042,900 in ticket refunds, and $156,435,000 in damages.

Hi,
What is the ticket? They are trying to make a law in my state that calls it obstruction of justice (or words to that effect). I think it's complete CRAP. If they are wanting people to slow down for the radar, and flashing them SLOWS THEM DOWN - haven't we achieved the goal?
Oohhh, right. You didn't get the revenue. Here I was thinking they just wanted people to slow down.
Cheers,
Nik
