I never realized it was May 1.

I remember the day it happened. I was pretty obsessed with F1 at the time and I *always* woke up for the races. For some reason I was sleeping really soundly and all of a sudden I woke up with a bang. Like eyes open...bolt upright. Went to the TV and saw the 1st replay of the crash. I've always had an intuition when someone died and I think I actually woke up the moment he hit the wall.

I've never gotten too involved when "celebrities" passed on but being an ameteur racer at the time it hit home. When my roommate woke up he asked me about the race and I was rocking back and forth in my chair describing it to my feet...it really hit me

 

A salute to one of the best drivers. Amen....
