Surprised you missed the other threads on this when it happened. We have a tribute thread in OT I believe. Very sad indeed.

Alex Djordjevic in the old days

My name is Colin Cooper and I believe that the first time I met Alex was in around 1989 or 1990 when he was working at Cafe La Scala in walnut creek - I believe his parents owned it or something. Alex, my friend Kurt Larson and I bonded as we were all Porsche enthusiasts. I think Alex may have been a bit good naturedly jealous as Kurt and I each owned one and he didn't yet but we were a few years older than Alex. Alex had a acute interest in high performance cars - When I met him he owned a Turbo Mazda RX7 that was extremely fast but I think he sold that and moved on to his Camaro that you can see in the videos on youtube. I lost touch with Alex in about 1995 or 96 when I moved away from Walnut Creek. I've read some real garbage people have said about him online and all I can tell you is that they probably didn't know him. He was a good guy and he was always nice to me. I think he did have a adrenaline habit and we all did some pretty stupid juvenile shit back in the day (we once raced our porsches from La Scalla in walnut creek to steps of rome in san francisco - I think Alex was in his RX7) and I believe he was on a first name basis with most of the cops on the walnut creek police force (Cafe La Scalla was across the street) but he really was a good guy. I dont know where he got the money for the Carrera GT or his 996, but Im going to guess that he worked for it and that it was not just handed to him. He had good reason to be proud of himself. I did not realize that this was the same Alex I knew from way back then until today. My condolences to his Fiance and to his family. I'm sure he was aware of the risks involved in running the Spectre 341. I liked Alex and Im sorry he's gone. Its awful that hes gone before his time, but I can tell you that he died doing something that he loved - going fast.

^^ Great post Colin. Alex really was a great guy. I remember when I was like 11, I made a tribute video for him on Youtube, and he was really humbled by it. He also would always take the time to reply to all of the questions on Youtube, or Teamspeed, anyone asked him.

I miss Alex, I still have a voice mail from him about 2 days before the accident and I still haven't had the balls to listen to it. Really a shame how the whole situation went down. I'm still in denial. Every time I see his name in my contacts it hits me. He is truly misssed
