Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) is excited to announce that world renowned racer Derek Bell will serve as an ambassador not only to the facility, but to the Palm Beach Driving Club (PBDC) as well.

Bell, a five-time Le Mans winner and three-time Daytona 24 Hours race winner, is extremely successful in sportscar racing ranks and even he can’t keep count of the endless sports car races he’s won.
Bell, a frequent visitor to the facility, thinks that PBIR is a facility with unique advantages set in an ideal location.

"(PBIR is) an excellent floodlit facility with a new surfaced track with the unique advantage of 365 day usage for corporate, testing or race days,” said Bell. “A few miles from downtown Palm Beach with all the delights of Worth Avenue for the ladies, deep sea fishing and of course golf combined with exquisite restaurants and hotels."

Ken Fengler, vice president and general manager of the Palm Beach Driving Club, sees the vast potential that is available by having Bell associated with the club and the facility.

"It is great to have Derek associated with PBIR and the PBDC. His insight and years of racing experience is invaluable. From Formula 1 to Sports Car World Champion to numerous hall of fame inductions, Derek is respected and recognized around the world as one of the greatest ambassadors of motorsports. "

Bell will be available to host events at the facility, assist in corporate events and be a part of the Palm Beach Driving Club. Having a world-class racer like Bell associated with the facility will better the complex’s reputation as a world-class motorsports facility.

Awesome, Derek is such an awesome chap. He took me for a ride around a local race circuit at 9PM in the Bentley Supersports. Couldn't see a thing, he still an amazing driver for his age.

for his age? Blasphemy!

interesting comment - I had lunch with Derek a couple of months back and there was an avid 8 yearold carter at the table - he and Derek were comparing their times at Spa & Silverstone - Derek in a car - Luiq on Forza. Derek was struck by the way children morph into acquiring great skill very early in life. After all look at the babies racing today - Lewis Hamilton, Seb Vettel....

Haha, he is a good couple decades older than me. He definitely is out of the norm, which is wonderful. Keep trying to tell my dad he should stop acting like a pensioner
