Post Rumormill: TVR on the comeback trail with American V8 power?

"TVR, the bespoke automaker best known for making a cameo in the movie Swordfish, will be relaunched soon. Citing unnamed sources, Pistonheads is reporting TVR will unveil a new sportscar this summer - possibly at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. While details are limited, the car is expected to be built in Germany.

Despite remaining faithful to "traditional TVR values", power will likely be provided by a crate engine from GM or Ford. This would allow the Russian-owned company to save millions of dollars on engine development and homologation. If TVR were to choose a GM engine, it would likely be the 505 hp LS7, the 566 hp LSA, or the 638 hp LS9 from the Corvette ZR1."

Didn't they always lack traction control or something crazy like that?

I'd be nice to see one with an LSx or a Cobra motor. Welcome back TVR!!

Ooh, this will be interesting! The Sagari is nuts as it is with the 6 cyl, but I'm starting to image how radical it would be with one of the Corvette engines Image that low weight with that power?! Lunacy is what it is...
