'07 Steel Blue Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Photoshoot - 28 images
#1
Last week I was finally in the position to shoot a Wrangler, which I've been wanting to do for quite some time now. I had discovered the location a few months ago, and had been wanting to shoot out there for just as long, but haven't found a car with the ground clearance necessary to make it past the potholes and uneven back roads. So once I had secured the car, I knew right away where we were shooting. There's tons of variety in this spot, and it allowed for a vastly different shoot than I usually produce.
Shot the car last Friday for seven hours in 34 degree weather (we had to break several times so I could thaw out my fingers in my car), and spent six days editing the photos, 10 hours a day, until the set was complete. And at 28 photos, this is tied with my orange Gallardo as the largest series to date. Who would have guessed it would have been a Jeep.
The look I was going for was 'Alaskan river bank, late winter', and I pulled off the precise color palette I had in mind; minor desaturation, cool blue tones, semi-high key light. Just... disregard the lack of any mountains in the background to back up my Alaskan vibe; this was shot in southern Louisiana.
Anyway. I hope you guys dig the series. Even if the subject matter leaves something to be desired, I hope you at least appreciate the artistic value of the photography.

But that's why I love it; anyone can photograph a car and put the photos online, but I like to deliver my sets in a cohesive package, processed to perfection and titled as well. I'm also a little OCD.

Thanks!

Thank you!
Well, that's the ultimate compliment, I'd say. That I can inspire others.
Thanks!
Haha, I've been hearing that a lot about 23. I never would have guessed people would gravitate so much to the simple detail shot.
Thanks so much, DJ!
