Mrs. Gobbles 2008 Cadillac CTS

As I mentioned in the other thread, the time to replace my wife's car sort of just presented itself the other night. She went gaga over an STS-V, which the dealership promptly sold before we could back to it, and then the next thing I know she's all over this CTS.

We've been discussing cars for her for about 6 months. I was leaning hard towards Audi the entire time. I knew the car had to at least match the performance and economy of the TL, and I wanted her to have AWD.

She never once mentioned Cadillac. We never talked about Cadillac. All of a sudden we own one.

2008 Cadillac CTS4
3.6L V6 with Direct Injection 304 bhp 273 lb-ft torque
6 speed automatic transmission
Bose 5.1 10 channel audio system
XM, MP3, 40 GB HDD
Nav (7" screen rises from the dash)
10 way power seats (heated and cooled)
Stitched leather everywhere, wood and aluminum trim

Here's a couple of pics. It's definitely a nice car and I think the AWD with the heavier weight will provide the safety margin I was looking for. She loves it too, which I suppose is all that matters.

Of course we picked it up in the snow yesterday so its already filthy.

Looking good!

Now all she need is some 19", a drop and some tint

The revised CTS is very nice. A bit more room than entry level German offerings, and a solid level of finish. Always good to keep the Mrs. happy - enjoy testing its snow capabilities

Nice purchase! It's a great looking car and as long as she loves, that's all that matters.

Yea, what is it with the chicks? My wife needed a replacement for her 2004 Cadillac SRX, which was great until the warranty expired, then fell apart over the next 10,000 miles.

So, I was just about able to sell her on an Acura MDX, then, at the last minute, she threw me a curveball, and now we have a Buick in the garage. Next to my M5. The cognitive dissonance is killing me. Specifically, the part where I *really like* the Enclave.

I didn't budge on the extended warranty, so we have 6 years/75,000 miles before the UAW start costing us money...

Nice choice. I like those wheels actually. AWD is the way to go if you get a lot of weather.

She tried to go the Buick route too. Between the "oh HELL no"s and the threat of divorce I managed to dodge that bullet.

Buicks are getting almost nice...but damn, they're ****ing BUICKS. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to drive one before retirement.
