BBC NEWS | Europe | Many injured in German motorway crash

More than 60 people were injured in a motorway crash involving 259 cars in Germany. The accident happened on the A2 autobahn between Hanover and Peine. German motorway police said 10 people suffered life-threatening injuries and 21 others were seriously injured in a series of accidents believed to have been caused by a combination of excessive speed and heavy rain.

That seems unrealistic...maybe 250 but 259?

Wow, that's incredible... My dad told me when he taught me to drive "never out drive your line of sight," seems like this is an exaggerated case of people driving beyond the limits of environmental conditions (rain).

Yes, but could've been prevented by people not driving beyond their stopping/handling capabilities on wet roads.

no...
once aquaplaning occurs and you realize it,it`s too late
you can only put your foot off the pedal and wait - LOL
you can`t brake and you can`t steer

you can drive very slow to prevent it...that`s right

but this day was horrible...I`ve experienced the flooded Autobahn that day,too...
