Wifi Integration in the Car(Stereo)...?

Must be a good reason why we still do not see wifi sync as an option in oem car stereo's let alone the aftermarket industry. Wifi+100GB HD in my dash would seriously challenge the ipod/iphone adapter market share. There are finally a few decks from mainstream manufacturers that come with BT, USB ports, even sizeable HD's, but no wifi? When I pull in my garage I'd like to see a pc/mac application that would let me sync music, video, and even better google map search results (latter of which is avail in europe to some extent on new bmw's).

So I did a quick search and this is the best solution I could come up with. Thoughts...

OMNIFI - Product Details

Mobile Digital Media Player
The DMP1 consists of a controller and a removable hard drive with housing. Mount the hard drive housing anywhere you would install a CD changer and receive wireless (WiFi) customized updates from your home computer and SimpleCenter™. The rugged 20GB hard drive stores an equivalent of 4,000 songs.

Mobile Wireless Adapter
Optional wireless USB adapter (DWL-121 powered by D-Link) will add WiFi access to the mobile DMP1 Digital Media Player, allowing automatic music downloads from your PC to your car via any 802.11B.G Wireless router or access point.

Aw man, the LAST thing I want is to have to deal with stupid wireless routers in the car too. If I never had to see another one again, I'd be happy.
