Tire shenannigans
So I run Sumitomo HTR Z IIIs. I've been happy with them.
I went to a higher-end alignment shop that seems to specialize in Porsches because Just Tires is a bunch of thieves.
The guy there said that these tires were narrower than the Michelins of the same size. That didn't make any sense to me--isn't the "275" the width in millimeters? It's not like saying "size 6", it's an actual measurement. Or so I thought.
He pulled some 295 Advans and compared them--they sure did look to be a bit over an inch wider.
Uh, what's up with this? I've NEVER heard this. And I'm a little worried cuz I just recommended a friend get a set for the rear of his car. He'll be running the Sumis in the back and RE40s in the front (350z). I hope his handling isn't completely shot to hell.

Yeah I know...he wanted something less expensive and runs through rears like he's going out of style, so he went with the lower priced Sumis. They'll probably only last like 4k miles anyways
