So what did your door cost? I'm surprised to see that it is used due to cost.

I think the issue with aluminum was that we couldn't find a door that was actually completely aluminum...

All the storm shutters are aluminum on the house, and they hold up just fine [thus far... though they've only 3 or 4 years old or so].

My bet is the standard stainless they use will still rust by being on the coast (from my experience it does here in Perth) you will need to spec it to be from a high marine grade stainless and even then I wouldn't guarantee it for any great length of time, the salt air is mighty corrosive.

I've got Aluminum doors with glass. They do just fine on the salt water.
