People who are building garages, take notes of how he lights up the car with giant softboxes over them, I am sure there is possible to do something similar for your set-ups, makes it so much cooler.

RL's collection is amazing, but I would be hesitant to call it the world's best. I'm sure there are some collections from the Middle East and elsewhere that wouldn't be second fiddle to RL's.

It's not about the cars ( as he isn't displaying everything ), it's about the style and absolute class about how he's displaying them. Stunning.

His collection has to be one of the finest - exceptional taste and all of his cars have real provenance (Le Mans, Mille Miglia etc). My favourites of his would be:

- Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupé
- Ferrari 250 GTO
- McLaren F1 LM
- Jaguar XK SS
- Jaguar D-type

But then there is the Ferrari 250 LM and Porsche RSK...

Out of the collections and garages I know of in the world this is imo in 2nd place after the sultan of Brunei.
Then after this comes Jay Leno's on a 3d place.

What about Simeone's Collection in Philly??
Most of his cars have racing success and are mostly original.

I don't know tons about Brunai's but most car collections in the world contain new stuff which are all fantastic things but lack the heritage. RL's, Slavics the McCaws and the other I have mentioned have insane history behind them. They are the type of cars most people wouldn't see in their lifetime and forget about owning them. Leno has some awesome stuff with his old steamers and duseys that makes him standout as well but I wouldn't put him in this league. My classification of best would be deep in history. Just finding cars like RL has is tough enough assembling them in one place breathtaking. One 250TR is like 50 or 60 Scuderias sitting in a garage. If I saw 50 scuds I would think it cool but I am constantly blown Away by the 250TR and would prefer that over the mob. Let's not forget the GTO's of which all top collectors own with the last known sale above 30 mil. That's almost 150 scuds. My point is these collections are the finest period cars from a time that has defined todays sportscars. In comparison the Brunei who most likely has the best of the best of todays insanely cool cars he has collected pieces that aren't in the same league. There is a japanese collector that I believe has over 40 F40's while its an amazing feet it doesn't imho play in this league of the exceptional. All of these massive collections are amazing so don't think I am not a fan I am telling you if I had the choice I would without question pick one of these in lieu of the monster collections around the world. We had a guy here in the NW that owns well over 6000 cars named Lemay. There are museums being built now to hold some of his best pieces but its a collection of just cars. 60s to 90s with no rhyme or reason. Does this monster classify in my book no way. I would trade those 6k cars in a blink for just one 250TR and I wouldn't have a second thought about it.

We have a member here I believe Mo1666 or something that I believe combines the old with the new very well from 250s to miura to all the new crap so if voting here I would call his the best on TS

Sultan of Brunei:

Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah Car Collection

Amazingly, Sultan of Brunei’s Hassanal Bolkiah is the proud collector of what is undeniably the world’s most unique and gigantic car collection you can ever imagine.

The Sultan of Brunei’s has an astonishing collection of over 7,000 cars includes some of the fastest, most expensive and rarest motors on the planet.

Sultan’s collection includes – 604 Rolls Royces, 574 Mercedes-Benzes, 452 Ferraris, 382 Bentleys, 209 BMWs, 179 Jaguars, 134 Koenigseggs, 21 Lamborghinis, 11 Aston Martins, and 1 SSC. Phew!!!
Motor cars
The Sultan is famous for his vast automobile collection. In 1998, the British car magazine Autocar published undercover photographs of the Sultan's cars, which included unique modifications of Ferraris and Bentleys. It has been said that he has at least 7,000 cars[citation needed] and has bought over U.S.$789 million worth of high-performance cars[citation needed].

The number purchased by his business interests and the number actually used by himself and his family differ greatly. According to Guinness World Records the Sultan's personal private collection has more than 600 Rolls-Royces, more than 450 Ferraris, and 134 Koenigseggs — the largest collection of that marque in the world. During the 1990s, his family accounted for almost half of all Rolls-Royce purchases, bulk buying slightly modified vehicles for diplomats and adding unique cars to their own collection. He also owns the very last Rolls-Royce Phantom VI, a 1992 state landaulette.

Among his collection are the Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Diablo Jota, Porsche 959, Bugatti EB110, Bugatti Veyron (regular and Pur Sang edition), Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, Maybach 62, Jaguar XJR-15 and six Dauer 962s. He is also the owner of six models of the Ferrari FX, the original red show model of the Bentley Continental R, the only Porsche Carma made so far, the only Koenigsegg Agera CC GT, two fully operational versions of the Ferrari Mythos concept car, both of the Ferrari 456 GT Sedans, the only right hand drive Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR in the world, five McLaren F1s including both black LM models and three Cizeta-Moroder V16T cars, 10 out of 77 made Aston Martin One-77s, the only convertible Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, and the only Cicero BDB Maestro ever built. He also possesses a Formula One car as driven by every Formula 1 World Drivers Champion since the 1980 Formula One season, particularly the ones driven in the last race for each season. A prime example of this is Jacques Villeneuve's Williams FW19 which still bears the collision damage courtesy of Michael Schumacher in the 1997 European Grand Prix.

He has a special interest in buying one-of-a-kind didjo cars, including the Bentley Java and Bentley Dominator 4x4, whilst leaving slightly more common race cars such as the Aston Martin AM3 or the modified Mercedes-Benz 300SL to his brother Jefri. The collection of vehicles was for the most part stored and serviced in five aircraft hangars, where specialist teams from the various manufacturers would maintain the collection and be paid a large sum of money.

The Daily Mirror (UK) reported on 26 October 2007 (Updated on 30 June 2010) that the Sultan owned 130 Rolls Royces, 531 Mercedes-Benzes, 367 Ferraris, 362 Bentleys, 185 BMWs, 177 Jaguars, 160 Porsches, 20 Lamborghinis.[9]
