We had a storm recently here in Nashville and it knocked the power out (of course). Now, we've got problems on certain TV channels with the audio.
Basically, the background noise or music is much louder than the "primary" audio, like the host of a show talking.
It's hooked up to a tuner, and we have to mess with it (meaning that the tuner must be changed to "enhanced" via a universal remote) whenever the channel is changed. The problem is primarily on NBC channels (USA, NBC, etc.) and it affects all shows, even those recorded prior to the storm.
Ideas? I'm completely lost when it comes to audio-related things. I hope I described the issue well enough.

Needs more cowbell
Impossible to say what happened, but it sounds like maybe your tuner received a surge. I can't imagine what difference it would make on certain channels unless the audio decoding is different on other channels. Sorry no help. Cowbell.
