Noise Cancelling for air travel
I can't seem to find my Bose QC2's so it's time to buy another set or try something else. Is there something else in the same price range that is better? I am open to in ear or headphones.

I would recommend the Sennheiser PXC 310 if you want a larger headset, I can get you a great deal on the PXC 450.
On the higher end scale, the new MM 550 and PXC 360 BT just came out and have gotten great reviews.

What is it that makes the Sennheiser better? I'm asking because I am clueless.

Yeah, do they exist? I hate not being able to sleep on my side whenever I wear these headsets.

Believe or not, I've started using some in-ear Sony buds that are great. Technically not noise-cancelling, but as good as sticking your fingers in your ears as far as sound muting. They have pretty good sound from my iPhone's audio too. MUCH MUCH MUCH easier if you're a frequent traveler and if space is at a premium. I'm very happy with them (and the $40 price). I just picked up a MacBook Air today to aid in lightening my load...
Sound Earphones - I wouldn't mind spending a little more money on some high-quality buds and relegating my Sonys to gym duty. What would you recommend? I'm a frequent air traveler (gone about 300 days/yr), so comfort is a must.

Both my wife and my MIL broken their Bose plasticky hinge that hangs the headphones like they were twigs.
So I had Sound Earphone got them one each of the Sennheisers, and I also tested the sound on my SACD player. The Sennheisers sound way better than the Bose.
The Sennheisers are much more comfortable to wear, and it drowns out the sometimes can get very loud occasional scream of baby scud.
And the Sennheisers have much better build quality.
Bose because of marketing has good resale, you should try to eBay yours before you end up breaking them like both my wife and my MIL.
