Okay, so this is exactly what happens now:

I log on to PS3 network, see my friends list etc. I click on BO, it says I need a update. It starts the update and hangs at either 5,9 or 16% total downloaded. It then issues a "DNS ISSUE 80710102" and promptly kicks me off the PS3 network where by I cannot log back on untless I shut the system down.

Infact, it does something to my internet where I've had to unplug my modem several times and reboot it. My PS3 is connected via ethernet, not WiFi to my modem/router.

WTF?

So I tried to play MoH, and IT required an update. And the SAME THING happened.

WTF is it PS3 network? My connection? I've NEVER had this happen to this degree.

As a side note; I'll have to reset my wifi on my ipad. Why would it kill my wifi on my ipad?

I'm thinking I'm having Router issues. I'm going to connect my PS3 directly to my modem and see what happens.

It sounds like your provider is having DNS issues, so this will impact all internet enabled devices on your network, not just your iPad. You should put those DNS server ips from the article in your router config so they are served out to everything on your network, instead of having to change the config on each individual device.

If you want help doing that, just let me know what router you have.

thanks man- I have a Linksys. It's approx 3 years old. I think I am having Router issues as well. Was going to try to just connect the PS3 to the modem directly and see what that does.

HOnestly most of this crap is like another language to me. LOL

Went home- disconnected my Router and connected PS3 directly to the modem- not only did it work, download the update- but it went from 5.4mbps to 8.3!!!!

Clearly my Router was the choke point.

Now which one should I go get?

What do you mean by freezes? How is your connection to the server (ping?). Does it only appear in MP or in SP aswell ? Please be more specific on your hardware...512MB doesn't say much about the GPU. Are you having these problems only in COD or in other games aswell ?
