iPhone OS 4.0 is on my phone!

Just updated it, looks and feels great. Need to get used to the whole setup now.

What is new anyways? I can see some differences on the interface, but not too much.

Me too.

So far, the photos have 'places' and 'events' like a mini iPhoto.

Theres some stupid game thing.

Multi-tasking (press home button twice).

Single inbox.

Nowt else I see.

I like the folders, went from 4 pages down to one page with all my apps.

I just downloaded it too. I noticed that with the multi-tasking it keeps apps "open" until you "close" them by double tapping the home key. I have a feeling that forgetting to shut down apps all the way could drain the battery more quickly then it normally does...

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up. Was a bit confused on how to use the multi-task feature.

Unlikely to be major; it stores a snapshot of the app only (in effect) when it was exited. Unless it's utilizing one of the specific multitasking services (audio, VoIP, background location, push/local notifications, or task finishing), it's not technically running (and even then, using one of the services, it isn't "running" fully, per se, as only the necessary threads run at that time).

For old, as of yet un-updated apps, it's merely the equivalent of a home screen icon. For updated ones not using the other background services, all it does is shortcut you into the last saved state of the app (when you left, or if applicable, when a task was finished).'

If you want a "secret" gem to find, scroll to the left in the multitasking UI to access iPod/background audio ala Pandora, Wunderadio, The Current (the only public radio to really care about) etc. via the audio widget, as shown here:
