Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 Router

I know TS harbors 99% apple-cult members, but can someone give me some advice regarding this router and Win7?

Microsoft says the router is compatible:
Windows 7 Compatibility for Buffalo Technology (USA) AirStation WHR-HP-G54 Wireless-G MIMO 4port Wireless Router: Buffalo Technology (USA). Drivers, Updates, Downloads

But the Info on box the router came in says:
"OS Compatibility: Vista, XP, Win2000, ME, 98SE"

My girlfriend went ahead and bought the "cutest looking" router from newegg without bothering to check if it would be compatible with Win7.

I'm weary to open it up and just see what happens because I don't want her to get shafted/unable to return it if it ends up being incompatible with win7.

Any thoughts would be nice. Thanks guys.

I can't be positive about the very unit that your gf bought.

But I have had the same router through three operating systems - Windows XP, Vista and now 7.

It has worked fine with all three.

I can't imagine that Microsoft would make millions of routers obsolete through Windows 7.

I say open it up and go for it. It should work fine.

Exactly what I was thinking. I'll probably try it later tonight when we get her laptop over here.

Buffalo has become known as a very solid router maker.

Its routers often have better than average signal strength and ease of install and setup.

Their tech support is also highly rated.

Good choice.

Yep, I was reading about it after she told me she bought it and they look to have improved their quality (Buffalo) a lot. I currently use the same one I think most others use, Linksys WRT54GL. It works really well also.
