id software used to be located here in Dallas... My friends said one year all of the sudden all of the front row parking was Ferraris when DOOM came out.

Should probably break this out into single and multiplayer.
Best single player experience ever: Uncharted 2 on PS3. A close 2nd is Half Life 1. 3rd might be Contra for NES.
Best multiplayer ever, Counterstrike mod for Half Life 1.
I'm basing this on how ground breaking and addictive they were at the time.

Sega: sonic
n64: 007 golden eye, ocarina of time
xbox: halo
pc: counter strike (ftw- fav game ever), red alert, star craft
