I've always wondered about this. Great post DJ and hopefully this will go into production soon.

Would love just driving one of these into the garage, and it just charges itself.

Nikola Tesla was working on something like this until GP Morgan killed it, apparently it wasn't equipped with a meter.

TED FTW.

I read about this first a few years ago. After watching this, consumer-level applications seem not too far off.

TED talks rock! I got them as podcasts. I really hope that witricity kicks off! Life with electronics would be so much smoother and cleaner without cords

In the end they just increased the distance frominduction charging as we already have for tooth brush, cell phones etc. I just saw a dcoumentary where they send electricity with mrico waves 60 miles. 60 miles is the distance it would need to travel if we had solar power plant satelittes orbiting the earth and were sending the energy back to earth.

We have this company here in Finland called Powerkiss (POWERKISS You Are The Future)
Our first product is now ready and was launched in Helsinki Airport Dec 4th!
So I am pretty familiar with this technology.
