Yeah Dynamic went nuts... He had a 30-kill game followed by a 41/1/1 game! The other team was PO'ed big time. I had a 20-kill game on my 4th or 5th game and felt good.
So here are my impressions so far:
Multiplayer (since that's what I played first)
- Way better maps. They are ENORMOUS, have lots of vertical changes (stairs, ladders, etc.). While campers have a ton of places to hide, they also will only get 1-2 kills a game because the maps are big. Also, the detail in the maps is great.
- Cool weapons. I haven't figured out what the best weapon combos are (I'm only lvl 8 right now), but the guns are good. I also like being able to pop dudes across the map. Of course the old adage applies - if they are in range, then so are you.
- New perks. The airdrop is pretty sweet. Basically you run to a package and it'll tell you what's inside. So far, I've got more ammo, done a precision missile strike, called in a Harrier, and called in a Predator strike with airdrops.
Single Player
- The missions look pretty cool so far. I like the character progression and I like the "training" mission. It's a pretty good way of integrating the need to teach/test your shooting with a real-world way of doing things. The combat is hectic as usual.
- Logical save checkpoints. Sometimes in MW1, you'd have a checkpoint in a really odd place. This time it seems the check points are better thought-out.
So far I like it a lot. I'm going to play a lot over the next couple of days and complete the single player. I'll also try out the spec-ops mode when Gobbles and Tron get online. So far, it's me, Dynamic, Gobbles, and Tron999. We're going to be a formidable team.

I picked up my copy last night, only had to wait in line for about 40 minutes. So far I have only been playing the multiplayer and getting pwned. I suck at this game until I learn the maps a little bit....and even then I'm not that great.

Well apparently I pre-ordered it quite a while ago cuz I just got a shipment confirmation. Wonder which platform is going to show up!

OK, now I'm doing a little better. I am level 9 now.
What weapon/combo's are you guys using.
So far I am doing best with the M4A1 with red dot site, Sleight of Hand, Stopping Power and Steady Aim. Machine pistol as back up.
