Post Brit Blog Names iPhone 'World's Worst'

In June, Apple's Smartphone was the editors' choice at CNET UK. How times have changed.
"The iPhone may be the greatest handheld surfing device ever to rock the mobile Web, and a fabulous media player to boot," writes CNET UK's Flora Graham in a mock award citation posted Tuesday. "It may be the highest-rated mobile phone on CNET UK, rocking the pockets of half of our crack editorial team. It's certainly the touchscreen face that launched a thousand apps. But as an actual call-making phone, it's rubbish, and we aim to prove it."

I love my iPhone. I still have the 1st Gen., and minus having dropped it a couple of times, it remains my favorite tech item.

Exactly.

Sound quality is just fine, and even better with a headset. I use mine for company conference calls.

I get great coverage, voice and 3g in my small mountain town half an hour away from the closest city. Not a dropped call yet.

They say it doesn't ring or vibrate. Funny, mine does both.

They say it makes your face sweaty? Maybe it's their fat british sausage fingers and chubby british cheeks. I have no problem keeping the phone off the side of my face.

The only thing that is true in that article is the battery life.

What a bunch of retards.

Has a lot more to do with the cell networks in the UK than it does the phone itself, and I'm not what you'd call a GSM fan.

Other than that it's just another Apple-bashathon.

Love my iPhone. Granted, it's not the best ever for phone calls, but it's adequate. I'm a text / e-mail / internet person anyway. Love the apps. Love the music and videos. And I charge mine each night, and plug it in at home or at my desk or in my car if needed during the day (extremely rare). For my uses, the combination of great interface, 3G, great screen, and zillions of apps makes it perfect. What the problem is?

Slacker, my friend has the 3G and one way to extend that battery life is to turn off the 3G when you aren't using it. And you can also set your email to manual instead of push. Just a couple of ideas. I am sure that Simba could give you a few more. Good luck bro.
