Need For Speed: Shift

That's one of the things I really like about the game... The force feedback in the remote feels great. It's intense and feels like it should. Plus, unlike Forza or GT, you are forgiven if you make some mistakes in the corners. Driving through the gravel isn't like dragging a boat anchor if you downshift quickly enough, and you're not penalized with time once you get back on the track. (at least so far)
Does drafting feel really weird to you? It seems like it's non-existent, then you just slingshot around people, or crush into them.

The oversteer would be alright, if the other drivers wouldn't be so different. When you try to push the car on a lap against other cars and being as sensitive with throttle and steering as you possibly can, not trying to go into oversteer, you find that the opponents just accelerate through the corners staying completely flat and neutral.
I just drove the AM DB9 through London and it was quite a handful, although being very sensitive. Then it was also bouncing all over the place like it was some old school american muscle car on jacked up suspension? Wtf?
The lay-out of the game with the career and tuning opportunities is great, but it falls quite short on the driving sensation. I really hope that EA will release a patch to neutralize the cars a bit. Then it would be something nice and entertaining until GT5 comes out.
I'll give it another go tomorrow and see if I can adapt the settings to a more sensible setting.

You know what's funny... despite the fact that I didn't play much last night... All I can think of right now as I want to play it sooooooooooooo bad when I get home. That's all I've thought of all day long.
Maybe they use subliminal messaging. Sucks, cause I have dinner plans/watch the office at someone's house, so I don't get to play tonight most likely.
BLAST!

I picked the game up this evening and have been playing it for a few hours. It seems to go pretty quick, I should probably be able to beat it by the end of the weekend without having to play more than a few hours each night.
The physics are not that great, but better than a lot of other games for sure. This is by no means a simulator type game like Forza or Gran Turismo. The feel of the cars reminds me a bit of the Project Gotham series.
This is a relatively enjoyable game, however I would say the IGN review is absolutely absurd. It is no where near as good as the reviewer claims. It is quite obvious he is under the influence of numerous controlled substances to speak so highly of it.
The game improves quite a bit as you move up the tiers and purchase and tune faster cars. After a little over 2 hours of playing, I already have a fully modified GT-R and GT2. They are certainly a huge improvement (performance aside) over the 200sx I started with, which felt strange at best.
I'm not really a fan of the blurred vision which occurs during fender benders or brief kisses of the wall. During the Veyron race, this proved to be quite annoying, especially with 14 other Veyrons slamming into you from every direction while trying to navigate a clean lap around the Nurburgring.
I would say if you don't mind parting with $50 and realize this is not a simulator type game, it is a solid time killer until Forza 3 and Modern Warfare 2 dominate all of your free time. It is certainly a lot more enjoyable than Fail Turismo: Prolapse.

I'll get some play time in this weekend and see if my opinion changes. Can't wait to pick up a P-Car.
